WELCOME TO OUR PRE-SCHOOL
At Foundations Day Nursery children progressing to Pre-school introduces a new framework for development for your child, with leaps and bounds being made during this time in relation to their physical and social skills, as well as their cognitive abilities. Children also have the opportunity to use our interactive tablet devices and computers.
ACTIVITIES INCLUDE
- Sounds and letters, including the introduction of ‘Jolly Phonics’. We sing, read and tell stories
- Mathematical knowledge, numbers, calculating, shape and problem solving
- Personal growth and social skills
- The opportunity to grow plants and vegetables
- Physical development, developing and building upon gross motor and fine motor skills
ADDITIONAL EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES FOR YOUR PRE-SCHOOLER
In addition to the above, Foundations Day Nursery also offer other creative activities for your pre-school aged child. Activities range from music and dance lessons to language studies, such as French. All of our staff are fully trained in 'Makaton' which is a language programme that uses signs and symbols to help communicate effectively and this is used daily throughout the setting. We also keep it fun by encouraging your child to be creative and expressive through arts and crafts projects that utilise paint, glue, junk modelling and messy play techniques.
